Hi, I’m Ali. I like to tell stories. I’ve been on the education beat at U.S. News & World Report since 2013. During that time, I’ve spoken with hundreds of parents and teachers about school choice, high school dropout prevention, suicide, human trafficking education and so much more. I’ve interviewed Bill Nye ‘The Science Guy’ about how to keep teens interested in STEM and reported from the White House at the 2016 National Teacher of the Year celebration.
I’ve held a number of positions at U.S. News since 2013, including intern, staff writer and currently – digital producer. I’ve also been the author of the High School Notes blog for U.S. News since 2014.
I don’t just write stories for U.S. News either! I help with social media, produce freelancer content, moderate Twitter chats and have even hosted a Facebook live event with the College Board.
I graduated from Towson University in 2013. There, I was the founder and the editor-in-chief of the Towson chapter of HerCampus.com, an online women’s magazine. I also interned at Baltimore magazine and The Kane Show. During my senior year at Towson, I completed an independent study, during which I created Buster & Ellie, an online magazine for people figuring out their 20s.
I also really like reality TV.
