Hi, I’m Ali. I like to tell stories. Since 2018, I’ve been a Multiplatform Editor for the Emerging News Products team at The Washington Post.
Previously, I worked at U.S. News & World Report on the education beat from 2013 to 2017. There, I spoke with hundreds of parents and teachers about school choice, high school dropout prevention, suicide, human trafficking education and so much more. I interviewed Bill Nye ‘The Science Guy’ about how to keep teens interested in STEM and reported from the White House at the 2016 National Teacher of the Year celebration.
I didn’t just write stories for U.S. News either! I managed social media, produced freelancer content, moderated Twitter chats and hosted a Facebook live event with the College Board.
I graduated from Towson University in 2013. There, I was the founder and the editor-in-chief of the Towson chapter of HerCampus.com, an online women’s magazine. I also interned at Baltimore magazine and The Kane Show. During my senior year at Towson, I completed an independent study, during which I created Buster & Ellie, an online magazine for people figuring out their 20s.
I also really like reality TV.
